Mac is also the only tech (out of 4 companies) able to solve the mystery of $4-5/day electric cost. Past 4 days dropped to $1-2/day since he adjusted a setting!
David Roy has been wonderful to deal with since 2014 when we had all 4 HCAV units replaced, including all new duct work and insulation. He always makes himself available to answer any questions or concerns. We since had 2 split systems installed on a lanai, and Howell Chase again was most reasonable in pricing and very competent in completing the project. Carla at the office is lovely to deal with also. Very responsive service provided.
Recently I replaced one of the a/c units in my home. Prior to deciding to have this work done I had Will from Howell-Chase take a look at my entire system to include the possibility of replacing all the duct-work. Because of the age of the system, we decided to replace the a/c unit and duct-work system with metal ducts and spray foam the exposed areas. The efficiency of this system exceeded my expectations. Over the past year I noted a 40% reduction on my electric bill. As important we noticed that the areas of our home furthest away from the system are as comfortable as any other room. It will only be a matter of time before this system pays for itself.
The installation was seamless. As a matter of fact they came up with a solution for running new refrigerant lines that did not disturb the inside of the home which saved us inconvenience and money.
I have recommended this company to several clients over the last year and shared with them my wonderful experience.

I had Howell-Chase Heating and Air come and evaluate my AC Unit in my condo. I have had 6 companies in there previously quoting and telling what they “thought” should be replaced. After reviewing the proposals for replacing my unit and duct work, I was baffled by how expensive it all was, and how each company was so drastically different in what they were proposing. Each company had their own idea of what “extras” I needed that were totally out of my budget. I reached out to Howell-Chase and technician, Mac came out and evaluated everything. I told him I had a budget and I wanted to know exactly what needed to be fixed and nothing more. He did not tell me I needed a new system with all the bells and whistles, but guided me towards an efficient system, and exactly what needed to be done and nothing more. The proposal I received was the best one yet, and I plan to work with them later in the year. Mac was courteous and professional and I look forward to working with them in the future.
If you are looking for quality equipment, a very reasonable price and super customer service you do not need to look any further. I just replaced my AC system and could not have been more pleased with the whole experience. All of the service techs were very professional, their clean up great and so was the follow up. Victoria Marangio from the office staff was wonderful to deal with and deserves special mentioning. Thank you again for coming to my rescue on such short notice.
They have always been there no matter when I call if my a/c or heat isn’t working properly. It’s nice to have someone I can count on, and who works so efficiently to get it working right. Having someone respond promptly at night or on the weekend is very reassuring!

Howell Chase is a very professional, customer service oriented HVAC company that is a pleasure to do business with. During the summer of 2018, I had my AC unit replaced by Howell Chase and they were very prompt with time of arrival for service, and very detailed and thorough in their explanation of the features of my new AC unit. The company offers competitive pricing in comparison with other local HVAC companies for their goods and services. I highly recommend giving Howell Chase a call.
Got three quotes from other Trane dealers and Howell Chase had better prices across the board! Their tech ,Lucas, was polite, knowledgeable and efficient. He covered all flooring areas with drop clothes and wore booties. He worked all day without a break and took the time to answer my questions. He cleaned up and was done with the install by 5. The work was top notch and I’m PICKY! Couldn’t be more pleased!
Excellent service! We just replaced our entire HVAC system. Howell Chase was quick, efficient and cleared up any questions I had. They send an email ahead of time with a photo, so you know who to expect at your door. The installation team was kind enough to clean up after themselves. They were quick to schedule, prompt customer service, and very helpful. Victoria at the office was incredibly helpful, guiding me how to pay my invoice online and also with scheduling a follow up inspection to change the location of my air filter, she even assisted me after business hours, which was above and beyond. Each employee I’ve interacted with has been knowledgeable and professional. Highly recommend Howell Chase!
We bought our house last year and the previous owner had been using Howell Chase for their maintenance/repairs. When summer began and one of our 3 units died, Mac Johnson (our service tech) came right out, discussed our problem in a very clear, concise and professional manner. Unfortunately, we needed a new unit but the installation crew had the old one out and new one installed in a day. Couldn’t believe the difference a new unit made and it’s so much more efficient. Mac handled every detail and we were so happy with Howell Chase and Mac that we’ve had all of the units replaced, one added and new duct work through virtually the entire house. Mac has coordinated all of the crews, electricians, ect. and it’s all run like clockwork. Mac also coordinated with our roofers when we needed to change duct work that was only going to be accessible when the roofers were replacing the roof and could open up the roof decking for the duct installers. I cannot express how much we’ve relied on Mac and Howell Chase and how pleased we’ve been with all of our projects. I highly recommend Howell Chase for large and small projects, their employees are hard working, conscientious and a pleasure to have working at the house.
David Roy just visited for a quick fix on a drain pan under a raised platform outdoor unit. Always courteous, informative and he finds creative solutions. We wouldn’t use anyone else.
